Coy "Wolfie" or "Poppy" Saul

It is with overwhelming grief that the Saul family shares that Coy Saul, Jr. aka “Wolfie” or “Poppy,” passed away peacefully, on May 29, 2023. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 52 years, Marilyn Satterwhite Saul; treasured daughter, Meredith Saul Touchstone and her husband whom he considered his son, Steven; beloved grandchildren, William James Touchstone (21) and Berkeley Ryan Touchstone (15); his sister, Lois Brincefield - all of whom felt that he hung the moon and all the stars in the sky. He was predeceased by his parents, Hazel and Coy Lee Saul, Sr. He was raised in Daniville, Va. and relocated to Richmond, Va. for college at U of R and later met Marilyn, thanks to mutual friends, keeping him in Richmond for the duration. Coy was full of life and a lot of swagger with countless friends near and far and even more stories of mischief and fun. His favorite things in life included holding Marilyn’s hand everywhere they went, cheering Meredith on in her career, bouncing grandbabies when they cried, snuggling rescued pups and kitties, having bare feet, even at the most inopportune times, having a glass of wine (or three) on his southern style back porch, being Captain of his Spider-Man boat, racing around Smith Mountain Lake, golfing with his buddies, and sharing a beverage and wings at the Sports Page every Wednesday evening, with the crew he retired with. Coy loved with his whole heart. If he loved you- you knew it from the selfless actions he took to take care of you. He will be missed every minute of everyday, for eternity. A gathering of family and friends will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 1, at Bliley’s-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd.
